In Norway, up to 225,000 women and 50,000 men suffer from Osteoporosis

Osteoarthritis, or degenerative joint disease, is one of the most common chronic conditions among the elderly, affecting approximately half of all individuals over the age of 70. Women are more frequently affected than men.

Osteoarthritis can lead to significant functional impairment and reduced quality of life. The disease usually develops slowly over many years, and is characterized by pain and stiffness, especially during activity and strain on the joint. In a more advanced state of the disease, significant loss of function is seen due to reduced mobility and deformity.
